These numerical models were made to analyze the transient behavior of extensional basin and range geothermal systems.
Numerical models were made utilizing a range of bulk rock permeability's. The evolution of the geothermal systems temperature with time was analyzed. Typical geometry for basin and range extensional systems was used in the models. The most significant observations from these simulations were that transient effects in basin and range geothermal systems can radically change the maximum predicted reservoir temperature.
