NDDOT's mission is to safely move people and goods across the state, and the Department strives to build and maintain an efficient transportation system consisting of about 8,518 miles of roadway and 4,858 bridges. It oversees the development of surface transportation including highways, bridges, rail, transit, pedestrian and bicycle paths across the state. NDDOT’s Central Office is located on the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds in Bismarck and has eight District Offices across the state in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Valley City and Williston.
