The Mississippi Secretary of State Office has eight divisions: Business Regulation and Enforcement, Business Services, Education and Publications, Elections, Policy and Research, Securities, Charities and Public Lands. The Mississippi Secretary of State can rent or lease all remaining public lands within its' jurisdiction. Mississippi Secretary of State has authority and management control over state lands, including lands sold to the state for taxes
