Technology Description The Current Power device is a slow speed vertical axis turbine that utilizes a direct drive permanent magnet rotating generator The concept is based on a vertical axle turbine directly coupled to a permanent magnet synchronous generator The system is intended to be placed on the bottom of the ocean or a river where it would be protected from storm surges and strong waves The output from the generator has to be rectified and inverted before connection to the grid Robustness is achived by the simple mechanical construction
