Project Details In September 2007, testing on a 1:40 scale prototype was conducted in real sea conditions. The WEC was floating freely in the sea and only anchored from the tip. The purpose was to test the energy production in different sea conditions and thereby create a power curve. White hoses attached to the top of the device were used to measure air flow. The energy measurements are made using the RPM outputs from 1) a traditional air turbine and 2) a displacement turbine.
