Revolution GS is a gyro stabilized electronic compass that provides heading, pitch and roll in bynamic conditions. Sensing elementas are a precision 3-axis solid-state magnetometer with two angular rate gyros to independently stabilize pitch and roll, as measured by a dual-axis, electrolytic tilt sensor. Recommended applications for the GS are manned and unmanned vehicles, robotics, weather buoys, etc.

Sensor Measurements

  • Heading (Orientation)
  • Roll and Pitch (Orientation)
  • Temperature (Internal Environment)

Measurement Specifications
Tilt Accuracy (static): < 0.2° Pitch & Roll (dynamic): < 1° for rates < 150°/sec Heading Accuracy (static): < 0.5° Heading (dynamic): < 3° for rates < 150°/sec Pitch & Roll Range: +-40° Dip angle range: +-80°Rate: 28 readings/sec

Notes, Considerations & Recommendations

True North offers a development kit that includes the compass, cable, and software. Also outputs magnetic field data. Optional USB replacement for serial cable. NOTE: Tilt sensor OPTIONAL for this version. Output in ASCII or Binary. Temperature output.
