Development Impacts Assessment

Effective implementation of low-emission transport strategies can reduce emissions from other economic sectors, including mining, energy, and agriculture. Low-emission transport options may also impact congestion, pollution, and the natural environment. Resources available in this toolkit may analyze and evaluate how low-emission transport policies and designs affect other economic sectors, and other potential co-benefits, which can alter selection of the appropriate transport technology, fuel, or mode.

Financing Opportunities

Financing low-emission transport development strategies and projects can take many different forms, including NAMAs, international or domestic funds, carbon trading schemes, and other types of finance mechanisms. This category includes technical resources that can help users evaluate the various financing options at their disposal.

Fuels and Efficiency

Deployment of alternative, lower-carbon fuels can reduce emissions caused by use of conventional fuels. Alternative fuels can include ethanol, biodiesel, natural gas, propane, and hydrogen, and can also encompass electricity (especially if sourced from renewable energy) that can fuel battery electric vehicles.
