Indianola Municipal Utilities offers a number of energy efficiency rebates to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The program provides rebates for commercial lighting, central air conditioning, add-on heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, programmable thermostats and energy audits. Residential customers who install heat pumps are also eligible for a bonus rebate of $0.30 per square foot on attic insulation installed to a minimum R-40 value. To qualify homes must be at least 10 years old with existing insulation levels less than or equal to an R-24. All rebates except the commercial lighting are available for both residential and commercial customers. All equipment must meet efficiency standards listed on the program web site and rebate forms. Rebates are given in the form of a credit to the customer's city utility account. The application and invoice must be received within six months of purchase date to qualify for the rebates. Applications are located on the program web site.
