Summary
EnergyFit Nevada is a home energy retrofit program. The program assists homeowners in finding and contacting an energy assessment professional to perform an energy assessment and a certified contractor to make the recommended upgrades. Any health and safety concerns or building envelope improvements identified by the energy audit must be undertaken by the homeowner. Other improvement opportunities are optional.
Homeowners may be eligible for up to $1,000 in incentive funds through this program if they provide at least $1,000 in matching funds and their home achieves a 20% saving from total baseline energy consumption.
This Program is part of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) BetterBuildings Program. The DOE has awarded over $500 million in federal funds to more than 40 states, local governments, and organizations to administer local programs targeting a variety of building types. Combined, these local programs are expected to improve the efficiency of more than 170,000 buildings through 2013 and save up to $65 million in energy costs annually.
