From Open Energy Information

The International Clean Energy Analysis (ICEA) gateway seeks to catalyze the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency decision support tools to inform policy, program, and project development. Through a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) collaborative initiative, this community web portal will provide outreach and training programs to foster dissemination and application of analysis tools, with special emphasis on developing countries. It complements existing forums that provide technical information on clean energy policies and project development, with a unique focus on analysis tools and methods.

The web portal is used to compile information on renewable energy and energy efficiency analysis tools and models, databases, assessment methodologies, and other similar technical resources and emphasizes user interaction to provide a dynamic environment. ICEA is a platform for video presentations, web seminars, and community exchanges to provide training and share experiences with use of these tools and methods. Partnerships are desired with organizations that can conduct in country training and outreach on the tools in developing countries to expand the virtual training activities. The gateway is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Further cooperation is desired with organizations that can help expand the information presented in the gateway and assist with outreach and training.
