GIZ in the Philippines
"The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has been implementing projects to promote economic, ecological and social development in the Philippines for more than 30 years on behalf of the German Government. Some 60 seconded staff and 160 national personnel are currently working there for us.
Our main commissioning body is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Commissions also come from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and from international clients including the European Union, the Asian Development Bank and AusAID.
In the Philippines we are active on behalf of the German Government in the following priority areas:
- crisis prevention and conflict transformation
- the environment, rural development and climate change
- sustainable economic development
