Davenport Power LLC

From Open Energy Information

Davenport Resources LLC develops, manages and acquires renewable energy projects and portfolios. In 1997, it formed Davenport Power, LLC, an independent electric power company with investments in renewable geothermal energy projects in Oregon (30 MW - Phase One) and Hungary (65 MW - Phase One). Both geothermal fields already have drilled a steam discovery well and are in early development stages with industry partners.

Davenport Newberry Holdings LLC is the Operator of the Newberry Geothermal Project and holds 62 square miles (40,000 acres) of Federal geothermal leases on the flanks of Newberry Volcano in central Oregon. Davenport’s objective is to develop and construct future geothermal power plants. Its short-term goals are to (i) refine knowledge of the geothermal resources; (ii) identify locations of hydrothermal reservoirs for conventional geothermal projects and areas for future Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) plants; and (iii) with technology partner AltaRock Energy, create and test an EGS reservoir. We anticipate that this new technology will demonstrate that EGS plants can be built as economically as conventional geothermal plants and show that EGS at Newberry can be an economically viable source of baseload renewable energy
