Water heaters must have an efficiency standard of 90% to qualify for the $50 incentive. Geothermal heat pumps are eligible for a $750/ton rebate if being installed for the first time, and for a $150/ton rebate if they are replacing an existing geothermal heat pump. Replacement of an existing geothermal heat pump must be necessary due to failure of the previous unit, and must achieve a gain in efficiency of at least 3 EER. Dual fuel Air-source heat pumps, with supplemental gas or propane heat, can receive a $150/ton rebate. Heat pump installations which receive rebates may be subject to Cuivre River Electric Cooperative's load control program. More information on program guidelines and equipment and installation requirements can be found on the cooperative's web site.
