The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU), in conjunction with American Municipal Power's "Efficiency Smart" program, offers incentives that encourage residential customers to install energy efficient appliances and energy saving measures. Rebates are available for Energy Star clothes washers, refrigerators, heat pump water heaters, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers and furnace fan ECM motors. Additionally, the recycling of old refrigerator and freezer units qualifies customers for a $50 rebate. Residential customers are also eligible for Efficiency Smart coupons for discounts on CFL bulbs and lamps which can be redeemed at participating stores. View the program web site for more information on rebates and to review a list of eligible equipment.
