Currently, the State of Alabama does not have a climate plan in place or in progress. In December of 1997, Alabama completed a climate action plan jointly funded by the EPA to determine ways for the state to reduce greenhouse gases. The plan includes energy efficiency improvements, land management strategies, and cleaner transportation, but it does not include any methods of directly capturing emissions or pricing carbon.
