Chicago Climate Action Plan
Chicago's Climate Action Plan addresses both mitigation of and adaptation to climate change and encompasses the entire city (rather than only City operations). The plan contains a high-level overview of Chicago's climate action initiatives, including 26 mitigation strategies and nine adaptation strategies.
|Community Energy Goals||Reduce GHG emissions 25% by 2020 and 80% by 2050 (1990 baseline)|
|Baseline||32.3 MMTCO2e (1990)|
Each action is coupled with a quantitative GHG reduction potential (including total reduction potential; reduction per participant; and annual cost savings per participant or household), the targeted sector (government, business, residential), and a high-level overview. Co-benefits (e.g., job creation, water savings, economic savings) are also identified, but not quantitatively detailed.
