Under this statute, the Director of Natural Resources will document and quantify carbon sequestration and greenhouse emissions reductions associated with agricultural practices, management systems, and land uses.
This information will be used by the Carbon Sequestration Advisory Committee to recommend policies or programs to aid Nebraska agricultural landowners in participating in systems of carbon trading, including potential policies or programs designed to optimize economic benefits to agricultural producers participating in carbon trading transactions, among other duties.
