LEDS Africa LEDS Partnership and Green Growth Workshops

Kinshasa, DRC 1-3 April 2014

The Africa LEDS Partnership is pleased to announce its second regional workshop to be held in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 4-6 Feb, 2014. The workshop will be hosted in collaboration with the Green Growth Knowledge Platform.

The first day will focus on framing of climate resilient low emissions development and the structure, scope, and objectives for the Africa LEDS Partnership.

Day 2 will open the discussion on key issues, focus on exploring the concept of Green Growth in an African context and showcase the relevance of Green Growth to Africa. In the afternoon participants will focus on the specific challenges faced by African countries.

During Day 3, parallel sessions will be held to discuss a wide range of topics including linkages between adaptation and mitigation, linkages of national and subnational governance, climate resilient development tools, among others.

Regional Capacity Building Workshop on NAMAs

Laos 23-26 April 2014

Regional capacity building workshop to facilitate sharing of experiences, lessons learned and good practices related to implementation of NAMAs. Participants are expected to engage in discussion on institutional arrangements, financial engineering, MRV and NAMA registry Bank.

SAVE THE DATE: LEDS GP Annual Workshop:Advancing Leadership And Collaboration To Catalyze Action

Kenya 24-27 June 2014

The LEDS GP is convening its third annual global workshop from June 24 to June 27, 2014 in Kenya. The event will bring together leading officials and practitioners from countries and international institutions to share lessons and strengthen cooperation on climate-resilient low emission development around the world. The 2014 LEDS GP Workshop will be focused around four themes that have emerged as key areas of emphasis through LEDS GP activities and discussions over the last year: Leadership, Implementation, Impact, and Strengthening Communities of Practice. E-learning course on NAMA Development

June 2014

A blended e-learning course based on the NAMA-Tool and training is currently being piloted and will be available online shortly.

14th Meeting of the International Partnership on Mitigation and MRV

LAC LEDS Transport Community of Practice

December 2013-April 2014

The LEDS Transport Work Stream is planning to host a monthly online meeting with interested stakeholders involved in the transport sector in the LAC region to discuss experiences and seek guidance on sustainable low-carbon transport topics; learn from practitioners in other LAC region countries who have experience planning for and implementing transport mitigation action; and inform each other of relevant reports and resources. The meetings will be hosted in Spanish, will be of no-cost to participate and will last approximately an hour and a half. If interested, please contact Benoit Lefevre <BLefevre@wri.org>
