Asia LEDS Forum: Putting LEDS into Practice
The second annual Asia Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) Forum is organized by the Asia LEDS Partnership and hosted by the Philippines Climate Change Commission. This year's Forum will provide unique opportunities for learning, sharing, and networking under the theme From Planning to Implementation: Putting LEDS into Practice. Interactive sessions will focus on:
- Sharing of good practices in low-emission development from around the region
- Building regional peer networks in key sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, and forestry
- Skills training in specific areas such as facilitating national LEDS processes and effective communication on low-emission development
This second annual Asia LEDS Forum follows the successful inaugural forum held in Bangkok, Thailand in September, 2012. The Asia LEDS Forum 2012: Catalyzing an Era of Green Growth was attended by over 150 participants from 17 Asian countries and served to launch the Asia LEDS Partnership as a new regional network to foster information exchange, coordination, and collaboration in Asia among programs and countries working on low-emission development and green growth.

Regional Exchange and Practitioners Workshop: Towards an Inclusive Green Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean
The main objective of the workshop is to provide a platform for participants to present and discuss core challenges and potential solutions for promoting sustainable development, in particular poverty eradication, and assessing a transition towards an Inclusive Green Economy – including cost-benefit considerations of these policies. The event aims at facilitating an exchange on best practices for policy approaches in Latin America and the Caribbean; selected examples from outside the region will also be presented and discussed to allow for a balanced debate of inclusive green economy policies. Furthermore, the conference seeks to serve as a platform for the interchange of ideas and perspectives and the compilation of inspiring practice examples on the path to inclusive green economies.
The event will be organized jointly by the Uruguayan government1 and the BMU/UNEP/GIZ2 Green Economy project in cooperation with partners such as ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) and ILO (International Labour Organization).
