The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has compiled a list of the operating geothermal power plants listed on the Geothermal Energy Association website, as well as GEA’s 2013 US Geothermal Power Production and Development Report (http://geo-energy.org/pdf/reports/2013AnnualUSGeothermalPowerProductionandDevelopmentReport_Final.pdf). The latitude and longitude coordinates for each location has been estimated by NREL using a variety of sources including, but not limited to, press releases, operator websites, outside reporting agencies, and conference papers. Each location was plotted using Google Earth. A flyby tour was then created in Google Earth and organized by the year that the power plant came online (GEA Start Year).
