GTZ is working with ASEAN countries on the project with the following objective: „Clean air policies are developed by and implemented in ASEAN member countries, thereby contributing to improving the livelihoods of people.”

Approach

The project aims at assisting smaller and medium cities in the ASEAN region in planning and implementing local clean air policies in order to improve the living conditions of people. In seven out of the ten ASEAN member states, 1-2 cities are selected that receive assistance and policy advice in planning clean air policies. Private sector and civil society will be involved as well.

Key products include policy advice, capacity building and trainings, and, to a lesser extent, non-monetary resources for selected smaller cities for simple air quality measuring instruments.
